News article for the Seniors Section

The Seniors Team continued their excellent early‑season momentum with a commanding 6½–1½ home victory over Birstall. Sunshine once again accompanied the golf, and Beeston made the most of it, securing wins in the first three and last three matches.
One of the stories of the day came from Tony Gilbert and Malcolm Leivers, who produced a remarkable comeback to earn a half after being six down—a rescue act that will be talked about for quite some time.
The standout win belonged to Match 2, where Matt and Dave delivered an impressive 5&3 result. Close behind were Match 6 (Keith and Rob) and Match 8 (John and Dave), both finishing with confident 4&3 victories.
This strong performance means Beeston Fields are now the temporary custodians of the antique wooden egg‑cup trophy, contested over the two annual matches with Birstall. With such a healthy first‑leg lead, the challenge now is to avoid any complacency ahead of the away fixture in July—after all, the egg‑cup may be old, but it still demands respect.
Thanks to all who played and contributed to another excellent team performance.
