Beeston Fields vs Erewash Valley (Home) Result

Friday 12th June 2026

The BFGC Seniors turned in a strong home performance to record a 6–2 victory over Erewash Valley, a clear step up from the 4–4 draw earned away from home just over a month ago. The course was in fine order, the golf competitive, and the scoreboard very pleasing from a Beeston Fields point of view.

Match 1 – A/S Phil Harrison and Phil Mawson earned a battling half point in a match that perfectly illustrated the power of local knowledge—just not quite in the way Beeston might have hoped. Recently transferred Ron Tinson returned to his former home turf and, alongside Erewash Captain George Chadwick, used his memory of the Beeston greens to help the visitors come back from 3 down. All square on the 18th tee, a double concession on the final green from Ron and Phil M was a fitting end to a contest played in excellent spirit.

Match 2 – Beeston W 3&1 The first full point for Beeston came from Terry Unwin and Kev Murray, who produced a solid 3&1 win, keeping control of the match and never allowing their opponents to build any momentum.

Match 3 – Beeston W 5&3  A standout performance from Mike Gilbert and Ray Stevenson saw them cruise to a convincing 5&3 victory, combining steady tee‑to‑green play with reliable putting to close things out early.

Match 4 – Beeston W 3&2In the next match, Drew Armstrong and Tim Hawkins delivered a composed 3&2 win, using their shots wisely and applying pressure at just the right moments.

Match 5 – Beeston W 3&2 Dave Bull and Rich Gibney matched that scoreline with another 3&2 victory, adding further weight to the Beeston tally and tightening the grip on the overall result.

Match 6 – Beeston W 2&1 Point number five came from Graham Pretty and Bob Jones, who secured a tidy 2&1 win, closing out their match on the 17th and underlining Beeston’s dominance in the middle order.

Match 7 – Beeston L 5&3 Erewash Valley did find some joy in Match 7, where the visitors recorded a 5&3 win to claim one of their two points on the day.

Match 8 – A/S The final half point for Beeston came from Andy Lowe and Keith Evans, who held firm in Match 8 to finish all square, rounding off the scoring and confirming an excellent home result.

Final score

Beeston Fields 6 – 2 Erewash Valley

A solid 6–2 victory, built on strong pairings, good course management and a healthy dose of Beeston Fields pride. Another very good day for the Seniors, and thanks again to all who represented BFGC with honour.
