Event held at Beeston Fields Golf Club

The first Quiz Night after the summer break drew 13 teams, all eager to shake off the holiday cobwebs and dive straight back into the familiar mix of friendly rivalry, head‑scratching questions and the occasional cry of “We should have known that!”
The scoring was extremely tight at the top, with the leading teams separated only by tie‑break margins. After a tense finish, it was congratulations to And Finally, who claimed victory with 58 points (‑8 on the tie‑break) and took home the £45 first prize.. As well as the win, they also inherit a minus‑3 handicap for October — a gentle reminder from the Quizmaster that nobody is allowed to enjoy victory too much.
They were closely followed by The Academy, also on 58 points but edged out by a tougher tie‑break score (‑16), earning £35 for second place. Nottsoclever finished third on 57 points (‑2), collecting £25 plus free entry next month after a marking error cost them what might well have been the winning score.
The winning team is pictured in Photo 1 with Committee Member Linda Shields, who presented them with their first‑place prize.
