April Quiz Night – Results & Report (23rd April 2026)
Numbers were understandably down for this month’s Quiz Night on Thursday 23rd April, following the recent and deeply disappointing announcement about the closure of the golf course. Even so, the evening still carried that familiar sense of community spirit. And let me reassure everyone: as long as the doors remain open and the Social Committee is in place, the quizzes will continue.
That invitation extends to all former Members and teams who may have left the club because of the pending closure. If you know anyone in that position, please spread the word — it’s business as usual, and they will always be welcome.
A total of 13 teams took part, including one new team (and we very much hope to see them again). After many near‑misses over recent months, it was finally the turn of Bar 6 to claim victory, finishing on 56 points. They edged out Vatman and Robins by a single point in a very close finish.
The winning team is pictured in Photo 1 with Quizmaster John Simpson and Committee Member Linda Shields, who presented them with their first‑place prize.
The toughest question of the evening appears in Photo 2, with the answer revealed in Photo 3.
