Event held at Beeston Fields Golf Club

It was wonderful to see the clubhouse buzzing again for this year’s Christmas Quiz. At this point, it feels like we’ve asked every possible question about Christmas — twice — yet somehow we still manage to unearth new ways to confuse, entertain, and occasionally baffle everyone. The day we run out of Christmas trivia is the day we start asking questions about Easter instead, and nobody wants that.
This year’s honours went to “The Past Lady Captains Team”, who swept to victory with the calm confidence of people who’ve seen a few quizzes in their time. They are pictured above receiving their prize from the Men’s Captain, Geoff Bryan, who managed to raise a smile for the occasion — a Christmas miracle in itself.
Ten prizes were awarded in total, though several were bravely risked in the now‑traditional open‑the‑box gamble. As always, this produced a rollercoaster of emotions: delight, despair, disbelief, and in one case, the sort of quiet resignation normally reserved for three‑putting from six feet. One team, sadly, left with nothing but memories, while another walked away triumphantly clutching four carvery vouchers, which is arguably the greatest prize of all.
The prize winners are listed below:
1st The Past Lady Captains Team 65 POINTS
2nd 6 Counties 63 points
3rd Santa's little helpers 65 - 3 62 points
