This week's competitions are a choice of either an 18 hole 4BBB or 9 hole Stableford Q competition.
The Club 4BBB also leads to possible qualification for the Ping 4BBB plate and Grand Finals. Cost for entering the Ping competition is currently an additional £5.00 per pair. Ping winners and runners up win a prize from PING regardless of whether they qualify for the final.
Playing Handicap (strokes received) = 1/2 of combined handicap total for 18 hole 4BBB, usual 95% of playing handicap for the 9 hole competition.

Upcoming weekend competitions: Saturday 4th August - Junior Funds Mixed AMAM
Our annual fundraiser in support of the development of junior golf at Beeston Fields will be a team Am-Am stableford, with the best two scores to count on each hole. Men will play off the white tees and ladies off red tees.
Playing Handicap (strokes received) = 85% of Course Handicap, subject to a maximum Course Handicap of 36 for men and 45 for ladies. Players with higher handicaps may enter but will receive shots based on these limits.
As a team competition this is a Non-Qualifier for handicap purposes.

As an Honours Board trophy, a Playing Handicap Limit of 22 for men and 30 for ladies applies to the trophy winner only. To win the trophy at least 3 qualifier Beeston Fields competition scores must have been made during the last 12 months. No handicap limit applies for all divisional prizes.
Record the gross score for each hole. The Competition Committee will make any required adjustments for the 22 or 30 shot limit.
Qualifies for the Chambers Quaich order of merit for top 30 placings in Honours Board events throughout the season for which there is no separate entry fee.

This week is our Ladies Invitation Day, where playing members may invite ladies from other clubs to partner them on the day in an 18 hole 4BBB. Cost per pair is £12. Members only 4BBB entry is £2.50 per person. There will also be a concurrent 9 hole Stableford Q competition. Lunch and prize giving for the Invitation Day will be held after the competition

Entry fee of £20 per pair will be charged to the member’s competition account, so please ensure your account is topped up in advance. An optional charge of £5.00 per pair for the 2's competition.

The winner of each Division in the Thursday Mixed Medals from July 2025 to August 2026 will qualify for the 2026 Medal Finals to be played alongside the July Thursday Medal with the highest placed qualifier being crowned as 2026 Thursday Medal Finals winner. A list of qualifiers will be drawn up after the August Thursday Medal.

Playing Handicap (strokes received) = 40% of the higher Course Handicap plus 60% of the lower Course Handicap, subject to a maximum Handicap Index of 39.8 for men and 45 for ladies. Players with higher handicaps may enter but will receive shots based on these limits.
Each player in a group tees off as normal and the best tee shot is then selected and alternate shot is played until the completion of the hole.
Countback will initially be determined using the team handicap limit calculated to 1 decimal place. If this does not produce a result then the usual back 9, back 6, back 3...etc will be used.
